Whatever we do, we should try our best to do it well and thoroughly, and it is not always necessary to make any promises. we take it for granted that a school should train qualified students, a factory produce high quality products, and shop sell good articles. none of them need to make any promises.
However, it seems nowadays that making promises is in fashion, with bakers boasting of their bread, and tailors of their dresses. just as the cartoon shows, even a hen will make a promise that her products -the eggs-are ‘flawless’. she promise to lay eggs without edge or corners, and guarantees that the eggs are compused of the shell, the egg whie and the yolk. what a funny, unnecessary, meaningless promise!
we often hear people, who have no remarkable achievements, but are quite fond of showing off, making similar meaningless promises. although their work is not done satisfactorily, they make a lot of useless promises rather than any improvement. at present, all of us should work hard for the benefit of our campanies, of the people, and of the economic development of the country.
I suggest that those who like to make promises stop doing that, read some books to improve their skills, and work hard to make more contributions to society.
